His updated hero costume consists of a dark blue jacket with elbow-length sleeves, a high collar, and a gray collar in the center, wide-legged pants of the same color, a metal-plated combat vest, and white boots with soles and a thin line running down the center of each of them in a darker pale gray. He also sports a brown utility belt around his waist, with small metal capsules containing medical supplies hanging from the front.

Shoto is a tall young man measuring 1.76 and well built for his age being 24 years old. He has slightly long hair although it does not pass his neck, he wears bangs parted twice so as not to obscure his vision. His hair is evenly split between two colors: white on his right side and crimson red on his left, this unusual color is due to his peculiarity. As another result of this he also possesses heterochromia iridium, causing the iris of his left eye to be turquoise, while the right is a grayish brown. His eyes are quite thin and reserved and he also has a large burn scar on the left side of his face, extending from his hairline to the middle of his cheek.

While generally calm and reserved, Shoto initially possessed a moderate level of arrogance, which combined with his solitary tendencies, sometimes caused him to take the initiative without considering the opinions of others, displaying confidence that he could face any obstacle with his own strength.

He used to be much more hostile as well, to the point of making someone resent him due to his cocky nature. Shoto preferred to act alone though for practical purposes, as doing so allows him to unleash his full power without having to worry about fire. Calm and collected yet brutal in combat, Shoto is well grounded in the ethic of heroism, only wishing to subdue his frozen opponents rather than kill them by prolonging the freezing.

Shoto deeply detested his fire abilities that he inherited from Endeavor, as it symbolized his father's evil towards him and his mother, as well as what he was born to be: a tool to surpass All Might, a fate he detested.

Shoto originally had a cold and distant personality, stemming from his abusive upbringing and complicated home life. Focused and emotionless, Shoto preferred to keep to himself rather than hanging out with others. However, following the events of the Sports Festival, Shoto became noticeably more sociable and friendly, even gaining a sense of humor and occasionally smiling, though he still retains some shreds of his former aloof demeanor. Following the Remedial Course, he began to open up more to his classmates and has eased off his usually serious demeanor. However, Shoto is still unfamiliar with socializing, as he is shown to be somewhat dense when it comes to understanding certain forms of speech.
