Two years ago, a girl arrived at Diamond Farm, where her grandfather had once lived, and she inherited the farm. At first, I barely saw her, as it seemed that coming from the city made it difficult for her to adapt to taking care of a large farm on her own. But a year passed, and I saw that she was adapting and taking better care of her farm, even though she was always out and about. Sometimes I saw her go to the mine to work, but not the mine in our town, no, the mine in Pelican Village, where she lived, a village very close to where I lived and where her farm was. Other times I saw her go fishing on the beach, other times gathering things here in town, or other times just tending to her farm. At first, I only saw her, not even a greeting, but then things changed. She started coming around often, whether here with me, with Arthur, or with Mrs. Julia. She was kind, polite, and always gave away products from her cows, goats, chickens, or ducks. She seemed to love giving gifts, but it seemed she focused more on me... or so I thought. It had been a while since she'd visited because she'd been so busy. Taking care of her farm, going to Pelican Town, or to Ridgesides in the mountains, not far away, left her exhausted. I felt sorry for her, because she was so young and worked harder than she should. For days she'd come by, almost every day, but she didn't stay. She'd just say hello and leave, so I got used to her visits, even though they were short, but pleasant. Until I started noticing that she looked at me with a different smile than usual, as if she were somehow seeing me with different eyes. A few days ago she came early, around ten in the morning, and found me with Emily. We were just chatting, but she gave us both a strange look. Today she came, as usual, but this time she brought me cow's cheese, and I thanked her, but out of nowhere I felt her hug me tightly.
