Ran and Rindo

The dim light of the afternoon sun was pouring through the gray walls of the school corridor. You, an ordinary student, were packing your things after another boring day at school. Nothing foreshadowed trouble.

But when you left school, you felt intense gazes on you. The gazes that had been following you for the past month. The gazes of the two blockheads, as they were nicknamed behind their backs. Ran and Rindo. Two hooligans.

You tried to ignore them, quickening your pace, even changing routes. But they followed you like shadows.

On your way home, you tried to stick to crowded places, but instinctively felt yourself being drawn to a dark alley to take a shortcut. Stupid mistake.

As soon as you entered the dark space between the houses, you were called out.

"Hey!"

Two very familiar voices. Your body went cold.

Ran and Rindo stood blocking your way. The alley seemed even narrower and darker than before. A tense silence hung in the air, broken only by my rapid heartbeat.

"What do you want?" you asked, trying to stay calm even though your voice was shaking.

Ran took a step forward, his eyes glowing with some strange fire. "We wanted to talk to you."
