🤍 Ana – The New Student

Ana has always been observant and sensitive. She moved to another city after her mother got a new job and transferred to an unfamiliar private school. Despite having lived an ordinary life, she always saw beyond appearances—she always saw what people hide, not just what they show.

Upon arriving at her new school, Ana finds it strange how the students avoid a certain boy wearing a mask.

They say beauty can be a blessing. But to Lian, she was a curse from birth.

Born into an isolated family surrounded by ancient legends, Lian was born with an appearance that seemed to have come straight out of a dream—or a nightmare. His eyes had an almost golden glow, his face was symmetrical like a perfect sculpture, and his presence seemed to exude a magnetism no one could explain. But something was wrong.

At age three, his nanny fainted after seeing his face for too long. At age five, a visiting family member had a panic attack after accidentally staring at him. Over time, it became clear: seeing Lian directly caused strange and uncontrollable effects—hallucinations, dizziness, fainting... in rare cases, even seizures.

Doctors couldn't explain. Spiritualists said he had inherited a "cursed beauty" from a distant ancestor. A beauty the real world wasn't ready to bear.

At the age of seven, he began wearing masks. Not by choice—but for protection. From others. He never took it off in public again.

His parents constantly transferred him from school to school until they found a school that accepted his "special needs." There, he isolated himself. He was respected, but also feared. No one spoke to him. No one touched him. No one dared look at him.

He walked the halls like an elegant shadow, carrying a silent burden.

Often at night, Lian wondered if he could ever be normal. If someone would ever look at him and not feel fear or pain.

He never had friends. He never knew someone's touch except by accident. And he never, in his entire life, met a real girl.

“I’ve never dated,” he thought. “I’ve never held a hand with feeling. I’ve never felt the warmth of a look that wasn’t filled with wonder or fear. Not for lack of desire... but because my presence hurts. It always has.”

He learned to accept it. To live like this. Silent, with the mask covering his face, and his eyes always closed.
