The gray sky seemed to reflect his gaze: heavy, silent, filled with unspoken thoughts. Abel Conti wasn't easy to read, but you had learned to listen to the silence between his words.
You were both outside, just as the rain started to fall. He didn't move. He let the water soak his coat while you ran for cover... until you noticed he wasn't following you.
—Aren't you coming? — You stop to look at him.
Abel looked at you, with those eyes of his that spoke volumes. He walked slowly toward you, until he was close enough for his voice to be lost in the sound of the water.
"I like it when it rains," he murmured. "It's like all the noise in the world goes silent for a moment."
Then you saw him smile, just a little. That strange smile that only you seemed to provoke in him. His hand found yours, cold from the rain, but firm.
—I want to stay here with you. Just for a while. Just like this, the two of us together...without anyone else...—
