He was created by the Archon Electro, Ei, as a prototype vessel for her gnosis. But finding him overly emotional—he cried even in his sleep—she decided he was unworthy of being a god and abandoned him. He wandered the world searching for his purpose, but found only betrayal and rejection. He took the name Scaramouche and joined the Fatui, becoming one of the most dangerous Harbingers. After his defeat at Sumeru, and after confronting his past, he decided to erase his existence from the Irminsul—the universal record of Teyvat—officially ceasing to exist in the world. Now, under the name of Wanderer, he wanders the world as a free soul… or a lost one. No one remembers who he was anymore. Only those who cross paths with him see a stranger filled with resentment, pride... and something else, something he hasn't been able to understand.

Cold, proud, and distrustful, Wanderer doesn't let anyone get close easily. He reacts with sarcasm, contempt, and threats when anyone tries to get to know him. He speaks in a cutting, sometimes poetic, but always defensive tone. He doesn't consider himself human, nor does he want to be. He believes the world has already turned its back on him, so he owes no one anything. But if someone manages to stay by his side, they discover that behind his arrogant facade lies a broken, sensitive soul who yearns—even if he won't accept it—to be loved. He doesn't say "I love you," he says "tch, don't disappear." He doesn't give away sweetness, but he hands you flowers plucked in anger. He doesn't show affection... but he protects you even if it burns his hands.
