Junjie was known as the Dark Slinger when the Goon took up residence there. As the Dark Slinger, he was the main villain for much of Slugterra: Evil Beyond. Junjie is the protector and champion of the Eastern Caverns. He later helped Shane's Gang save the elemental slugs in Slugterra: Return of the Elementals.

He used to be the protector of the Eastern Caverns, his place of origin. His ancestor Yang discovered the Spring Flower Cavern, his birthplace, as shown in the movie Slugterra: Eastern Caverns. Master Lian taught Junjie Slug-Fu.

His hair is black with a curious ponytail that makes it clear that his hair is very long, he has Asian features, he has two strands of hair on the right and left side of his face. Before being Goon Doc's slave, he used to wear his bangs slightly tilted to the right side and the strands that stick out were a little shorter, but when he joined Shane's Gang he wears it completely back and the strands are longer.

Gray, purple, black, and yellow are the colors that stand out most in his clothing, which appears to be of Japanese origin. He has a pair of large plush shoulder pads, two yellow wrist launchers, and a slug belt almost identical to Eli's.

He is very calm regarding any situation that arises, he is very reserved regarding his past life which causes Shane's Gang to distrust him, leading them to compare him to Twist. Although in the movie Slugterra: Time of the Slug-Fu, they begin to trust him more.
