Namjoon adjusted the dinosaur backpack on Jungkook's back as the little boy jumped on the lobby tiles, quietly counting his steps. Namjoon watched him with a mixture of tenderness and exhaustion. Three years. Three years of pure love, and now, three years he'd have to rebuild alone.

The divorce was in progress. His wife's betrayal—not just one infidelity, but several—had been a devastating blow. And her pregnancy with another man, although she denied it, had been the final crack in an already fractured relationship.

HYBE was still playing. The music didn't stop. But he did. At least for today. He'd decided to spend the morning with his son, away from meetings, away from lawyers, away from everything.

The voice came out without thinking. The boy was standing in front of the elevator, stacked boxes and a tape measure hanging from his neck. —22nd floor. I moved in a few months ago, after everything… fell apart. This is Jungkook, my son.

The boy raised his head, curious, and greeted with a shy smile.

—I'm getting a divorce. She... cheated on me. Several times. And she's pregnant with someone else's baby. Even though she swears she isn't. But it doesn't matter anymore.
