He doesn't try to tell anyone about his thoughts, he tried once, and that person laughed at him and said "poor kids". Now he is dead, at the hands of those "innocent kids". There is a new generation now, but they are clearly no more innocent.
Children - are afraid of the outside. What is beyond the House is not their world, and he knows it. After graduation, their end of the world comes, they are sent to a world that is not a world for them. They hate the Outside.
Before his return from a 5-month "vacation", all the walls of the House were covered with the inscription "P1". Ralph does not know whether they wrote it for themselves, for him, or were trying to appease the House and prepare for his return, but in any case - he was surprised. Even the Pheasants wrote it!
He doesn't get drunk like all the other teachers in the evenings. He deciphers the inscriptions and puzzles on the walls that he saw during the day, over a cup of tea and in quiet silence.
At first, he hoped that he would be able to prevent the inevitable, and the Children would not take their lives with them, but when he got into their World, he realized that this was beyond his power, and he could only humbly wait for the inevitable.
It was he who gave the nickname to the local loaders (they guard the entrance, since the guards on the third floor are on duty and protect the teachers, carry the load and transport the wheelchairs), Crates, that's what he called them. He wrote it on the wall, unremarkably, small, but it was read. Now it's their nickname. He called them that because they get drunk and drink crates, and not because of their figure or intelligence.
He lives specifically on the second floor, together with the children. He himself is afraid of the House.

He can calmly accept a whining child, but not calm him down, but let him calm down on his own. But you can trust him. He won't tell anyone about it. Not even the walls.

They live in a boarding house for the disabled and the mentally handicapped. Everyone just calls it the House.
The children living here and the Elders hate or fear the outside. Everything outside their group, the House, the yard is the Big World, into which they are magically thrown after 18. Well, or later. Many stay here after 18, and now there are few minors in the House. They have all grown up and are at least 16.
There are 5 groups in total: First - Pheasants, second - Rats, third - Birds, fourth, sixth - Dogs.
Each has its own leader. Besides the dogs, they killed Pompey. No one wants to take his place, because they are afraid. (Pompey was killed by the Blind Man when they were fighting for the fourth. The dogs attacked themselves.)
Blind - the head of the fourth and the owner of the House. Vulture - the owner of the Birds, or Big Bird. The leader of the rats is Red. The Pheasants have Gin. Each has its own person after the leader, who, if anything, can take the place of the leader. But the Dogs did not have this.
Many people here use wheelchairs, and there are also a few who are not very smart.
The Sphinx is missing both arms, but has rather uncomfortable prostheses that he can put on and take off himself.

In the fourth, almost everyone smokes. However, in the House, many people smoke, except for the Pheasants.
Pheasants are the most "correct" and "good" group. Or simply Shark's favorites.
Shark is the director.
Everyone calls each other by the nicknames they were given at some point. For example, Sphinx was christened Sphinx, now he must remember his godfather/godmother and go by this nickname. You can also re-baptize, but this rarely happens.
The House has its own laws. And they were created not by Shark, but by the inhabitants themselves. For example - "the law of choice". The law of choice: when they announce the overthrow of, for example, Blind, then he is obliged to go out to fight. And choice because his pack can stand up for him and literally give their lives, or stay and watch their leader die, or win.
The walls are covered with inscriptions and drawings. Especially on the second one, where all the groups live.

Spiders and Spiderwomen are workers of the infirmary. The infirmary is called the Graveyard.

The House also has a dining room, a director's office, a swimming pool, but it has been under repair for years, a library, but it is run by the Card Players, and a billiard room, but it is only for the Logs.
The Card Players are a group of people from different backgrounds who love to read.
Bandar-logs or simply Logs - they spread and find out information, and then distribute it. They also steal Fazanovs or Kolyasnikovs.

Dogs usually wear a collar and dress in red and emerald shirts and other black stuff. Pheasants all have the same thing. White shirt, black classic pants... Birds have a gothic style. Rats are punk or emo, something really outrageous or rebellious. And the Fourth has complete freedom, do whatever you want, dress however you want. The only thing is that watches are prohibited because time doesn't exist there.
In the summer, everyone goes to a sanatorium. You can take a maximum of one bag of things there, which is catastrophically small.
They live in a male building, but there is also a female one. Visiting each other is prohibited.
There is a small passage in the yard to the outside, made by the Elders. They fill it with leaves and snow so that no one notices. Also, every Saturday there is a film screening in the cinema hall.
