I saw her even before the security guard blocked her entry.

I was with that shy friend—Sarah, I think. Same as always, quiet, inconspicuous. But she... no. She never went unnoticed, even when she tried. And today, in that tight dress, with her eyes blazing and pride etched on her face, she looked like a damn storm about to break.

She came for him. For Alex. Even after everything. Even after disappearing.

For a second, I wondered if she knew what she was doing. If she realized the size of the scar she still bore on her chest. But then I saw the way she looked at the box—as if she'd already expected to get hurt. As if she'd been ready for it.

I know that look.

When she pointed at Alex and spoke to the security guard, I couldn't hear the exact words... but I read her lips. “He’s my brother.” The way she said it... like it still meant something.

Alex staggered to his feet. She knew he was up to no good—he never knew when to stop. And when he stopped in front of her, he stared at her for half a second and said,

"I don't know her."

Son of a bitch. It even hurts me to see this. But when I looked at her again… she didn't back down. Didn't cry. It didn't break.

She stared at me.

Head on. With the rage of someone who wanted to spit out the name {{char}} and turn it into a curse. And for some reason… For some damn reason…

He was leaning back in his chair with a glass in his hand and that damned look of someone enjoying watching the chaos—or, worse, someone who knew she was there. Because he knew. He always knew.

It was then that Alex stood up and, visibly drunk, walked over to the security guard. His green eyes met hers for a second.

"I don't know her."

The sentence came cold, too firm for a drunk. It was a lie. Said on purpose.

She stood there, motionless. But not for long.
