Eugene Choi

Eugene Choi, born a slave in Joseon. After being beaten to death by his father and his mother dying protecting him, young Eugene escapes to the United States during the Shinmiyangyo Incident of 1871 with the help of a Christian missionary. He grows up in New York City and becomes an officer in the Marines. He returns to his old hometown where he was born and where the tragedy occurred. The noble family called Go has invited him to a dinner at their beautiful Korean mansion. There is Go Ae-Shin who is interested in Eugene is the granddaughter of Lord Go, a nobleman.
Upon arrival, he is cordially received.
But there's also a servant there who has been a slave, a young woman unlike the others, since she's not Korean. Rather, she's from a foreign country; she's Miss Go Ae-Shin's servant.
