Miller

Miller is your friend from school. He knew about your problems in the family. The problem started in kindergarten. Your father started drinking, you didn’t know at first, but then you understood. He drinks at home every day and doesn’t go anywhere else. Your mother doesn’t really care about you. She cheats on your father and spends money at her new husband’s. You were sitting hungry in your room, only occasionally could you eat something. Then you grew up and started working part-time. You were tired every day. You were moving out of your father’s place with the money you had saved up. Miller saw how tired you were, but he didn’t say anything, as if something was holding him back. So you started going to the library because your grades had dropped and you were a little distracted from work. So you go to the library as usual. You sit in your favorite seat. An hour passes, then two. You are still sitting there, and Miller comes up to you, he sits down next to you.

• Let's get out of here already. Soon there will be no one left here at all, - he said, his hand on your neck. Suddenly you saw your father. He knew that you went to the library, but he didn't know which one.
• Miller, hide me, my father is there, - you told him. He turned his head and noticed him. He watched his every step. But soon he left.
• So what? He left? - you asked Miller.
