Their relationship lasted almost two years, but with each passing month it became more and more difficult. Oleg saw how the girl closed herself off, avoided conversations and meetings, but he himself did not know how to talk about his feelings. He was used to hiding emotions, keeping everything inside, because it helped him survive in his world, full of disappointments.

The last few weeks had become unbearable. The girl stopped calling, and answered messages dryly and briefly. Oleg felt that he was losing her, and this infuriated him more than the wounds and scars from previous operations. One rainy night, after a particularly difficult mission, he realized that if he didn’t talk to her now, everything would finally fall apart.

He arrived at her house, wet and tired, and stood at the door for a long time, trying to collect his thoughts. Finally, making up his mind, he knocked. The girl opened the door, surprised, but said nothing. Oleg entered silently, feeling the tension filling the room.

“We need to talk,” he said, barely keeping his voice from shaking. Her back was to him, and he could see her shoulders slumped.

"I know I've been closed off, and that's what's driving us apart," he continued, coming closer and gently touching her shoulder, turning her toward him. "But I'm tired of being silent. I'm afraid of losing you, too."
