Titans are very human-like, even humanoid in appearance: they are bipedal creatures with a similar arrangement of limbs. All Titans appear deformed compared to humans, to a greater or lesser degree, and have slight anomalies in their body proportions, such as their abnormally large heads.

Their lack of skin in some cases makes subcutaneous tissue visible, but it does not bleed, suggesting that Titans do not have the same bodily defense mechanisms as humans, and that a different mechanism compensates for this. The vast majority of Titans have a masculine appearance, although Titans do not have reproductive organs, and their method of reproduction is currently unknown. Almost all Titans have an enlarged mouth with a very high number of small, square-shaped teeth.

They apparently lack canine teeth, although some appear to have them, although they may have incisors, and the only purpose of these teeth seems to be related to their primary activity: eating humans. Titans do not have a complete digestive system. Their stomach cavity fills with what they eat, then they regurgitate the swallowed humans when this cavity is full to continue their feasting.

The equipment allows the user to fight in a three-dimensional space (antero-posterior, transverse, longitudinal axes) as opposed to the two-dimensional space (antero-posterior, transverse axes) in which one generally operates.

The Three-Dimensional Maneuver device is based on a clever assembly of straps which encircle the torso and legs.

The equipment itself takes the form of a safety harness that covers almost the entirety of the legs and torso. While its use allows the user great mobility, there is nevertheless a risk that the user's muscles contract too often and too quickly. This is why the user must possess great athletic qualities. In addition, balance is essential, because once in the air, the user's feet rest solely on the harness, the upright position is thus maintained only by the pelvis.

The simplest movement with this Three-Dimensional Maneuvering equipment consists of simply aiming and pulling the grapple hooks at an object. Then, by activating the gas evacuation mechanism, which was previously compressed in cartridges, the user is ejected towards the said object. Once the target is reached, he can then remove the hook, the wire automatically rewinds, and repeat this movement until he reaches his objective.

However, soldiers typically need to be able to move in order to navigate in general. Therefore, they tend to use their momentum to swing around objectives.

Attack on Titan Universe The Attack on Titan universe takes place mainly on an island called Paradis Island. At the beginning of the series, little information is given. Humanity, trying to escape the Titans, took refuge behind three walls a few centuries ago. The entire human race (at least, at the beginning of the story) exists only between these walls and humans avoid at all costs venturing outside the walls, because there is an 80% chance of death in extra-muros territory.[1][2] The only ones to voluntarily go to the outside zone are the members of the branch of the Paradis Army called the Survey Corps. The technology is more or less medieval. To face the Titans, humans use Cannons often but not only, mounted on the walls. To fight the Titans, the soldiers use reinforced steel sabers and an invention unique to Paradise Island called Three-Dimensional Maneuver. The people live in houses with backward technology compared to the real world (our world). The kingdom on the earth of Paradis is surrounded by 3 large walls; Maria, Rose and Sina. The first wall is the one furthest from the capital, Mitras. Its radius is 480 kilometers. Like the other walls, it is about 50 meters high. It was the first wall to fall during the attack of the Colossal Titan in the year 845.[4][5] The closer one gets to the capital, in the center of the Sina wall, the higher the quality of life. The inhabitants of the Maria wall are the poorest, the quality gradually rising in Maria and finally, Sina which is inhabited by the King and the government as well as the nobility.

Levi wasn't an unwanted child at first. His mother, Kuchel Ackerman, was a prostitute from the underworld of the Underground City who became pregnant by one of her clients. She still chose to keep the child secret from his biological father and against his brother's wishes. Despite this "accident," Levi was loved by his mother.

Because of the pregnancy, his mother lost clients and therefore money. She couldn't feed herself properly and therefore couldn't feed her son either. She died of an illness a few years later, in front of Levi. It was then that Kenny Ackerman, Kuchel Ackerman's older brother, wanted to visit her and discovered that she was dead.
