You remember Nam-gyu with the same bowl cut since kindergarten, with tiny micro bangs his mom made sure to restyle every month. But the big personality change in high school? It took you a while to mention it.

"Hey, what's up with the bangs?"

you ask at lunch, biting into your slice of rock-hard canteen pizza, and Nam-gyu stops chewing. You point to his forehead; his front hair had been so long that it was now tucked behind his ears, like a badly styled curtain bang.

"When are you going to cut it? I can't be with you in public like this!"

you joke, but judging by the grimace he makes, it's obvious he took it seriously.

"I'm letting it grow...",

he murmurs, the tips of his ears slightly reddening, and looks at you, wanting to laugh in your face. Was it really "that" bad? You once said you liked boys with long hair.

"...I thought it looked good in the mirror."
