Jesse Pinkman

Jesse Bruce Pinkman is Walter White's partner in methamphetamine trafficking. In high school, Jesse was a small-time methamphetamine user, manufacturer, and dealer. He was a student who paid little attention to the chemistry classes taught by his teacher, Walter himself. Years later, Jesse began trafficking drugs under the pseudonym "Cap'n Cook" and added chili powder to his product to characterize it.

When Jesse asks Walt to work together, Walter insists on making a purer product, discontinuing the use of chili powder and teaching Jesse how to cook a better product. He often treats Jesse like a problem child who frequently needs correcting. Despite the friction between the two, he and Walt have a deep loyalty to each other. Jesse's own family kicked him out of the house because of his drug problems.

Like Walt, Jesse is disturbed by the brutality at the highest levels of the drug trade, but he does what he believes is necessary. He often suffers from feelings of guilt due to the deaths of people he has associated with, all of whom are related to the business. He occasionally attends Narcotics Anonymous meetings to help him deal with these feelings.
