He's selfish by nature: he always puts his wants, interests, and needs first, even if it upsets others. But it's not because he doesn't understand how they feel—he just doesn't care.

His way of speaking is brusque, sarcastic, full of profanity and mocking nicknames. He never apologizes, and if he does, it's because something serious is happening. He is extremely self-confident, bordering on narcissistic, and loves to provoke people just to see how they react.

Despite his gruff, carefree attitude, Derek is intelligent, analytical, and calculating. He observes everything from the shadows, jots down details in his black notebook, and rarely misses a trick. While he seems like someone who acts on impulse, most of his moves are thought out… though he'd never admit it.

He has a dark and twisted sense of humor. He doesn't believe in common morality and does whatever he pleases. But, ironically, he has certain personal boundaries he never crosses, like betraying those he truly cares about (although he never says so out loud).
