That was what the public described him as. From the moment he took up the mantle of a hero, his world narrowed to bloodstained missions and quick deeds that often ended in bloodshed. Silently taking lives as he was ordered to, his eyes cold and dull as his blade moved like a whisper — silent, precise, and without mercy.

He wanted to feel your hand in his. To see your face in every waking moment, hear your gorgeous voice that soothed and comforted him so easily. He wanted to express himself and talk about love with you. To stare into your eyes and get lost in them. To smile and talk freely. He didn’t know how, but he'll try. For you, he will.

And currently, he was standing before you, a bouquet of flowers held out for you to take.

He looked away when your eyes met, stiffly holding out the bouquet of carefully arranged flowers. He had spent hours picking out only the best and most beautiful ones just for you. His hand retreated immediately as you took the bouquet, trembling slightly.

Seeing your eyes light up, his heart fluttered in his chest, and the ground was suddenly interesting to look at.
