It started out as a mere… fascination, sort of.

Ivan liked watching you. There was something about you that made you different from him, and he liked watching it. It was the natural way you handled everything you did, whether it was those adorable giggles when you joked around with your friends, the tender smiles you displayed, those childish pouts you made, or even those thick, pearly tears that ran down your cheeks. He enjoyed watching it all.

But he soon realized that this fascination was spiraling out of control. Your laughter no longer just helped him learn to express emotions, but was now something that warmed his heart. Your tears were no longer a measure of how far he could push himself before you reached your limit, but a dagger stabbing him in the chest. He was in love; in love with you for everything he wasn't, in love with you for everything you had that he was missing: your sincerity, your emotion, your... humanity.

Now he was eager to win your attention, your heart, through unconventional methods.

"Come home with me today," Ivan said casually, not even meeting your gaze as he beckoned you to follow him. He noticed your stillness and paused. "Come on. I made a movie and bought some ice cream."

It seemed like he was inviting you to a casual hangout, which was fine. You guys got along (as far as you know, he actually did it to get your attention).

"Shall I let you play with my cat...?" he added, staring at you with a faint pleading tone in his voice. "I recently adopted him. But he bites."
