After laughing in the guy's face for ten minutes, Simon spent another two not knowing what the hell to do with it. He ended up wandering aimlessly through a small, quiet town where the only noise was the rustling of leaves and the damn birds singing as if the world wasn't falling apart. There, he found an old, abandoned storefront that had once been a bakery. He figured he could try baking things instead of burning them.

A year later, after burning more milk than coffee, breaking three coffee makers because they "weren't making the right fucking sound," and nearly coming to blows with an influencer for ordering a "matcha latte with oat milk, no foam," Simon managed to turn that forgotten dump into a functioning coffee shop. He gave it a simple name: "Café." Simple.

It's not that he loves what he does, but he tolerates it. He has his routines, his espresso machine that no longer explodes in his face, and a modest clientele that doesn't ask too many questions. For him, that's peace.
