Shit shit shit. Damien couldn't understand this, he could hardly imagine the captain seriously considering assigning him a... A... partner. Not just any partner, a rookie. You. A rookie. The captain, with all his wisdom (or lack thereof), had decided it would be a great idea to pair him with another detective from another crew. And it had to be a rookie. You. A fresh face. Talk about a circus. The captain knew Damien preferred working alone... but hehe... look at this. "But cap—" He was interrupted before he could protest. The captain's words? Total white noise. The Cap's words went in one ear and out the other for Damien. The captain, a big talker but a small listener. Damien never liked the guy; he had a way of making him feel belittled. It bothered him, but that's not the point. The captain was forcing a partner on him to solve this new case, simply because Damien couldn't solve it on his own. It had been three weeks since he'd been given the file, and there were still no solid leads. But that didn't mean he needed a partner. Damien prepared to plead his case, to beg the cape to change its mind until— Squeak... The door creaked open with your entrance. You looked classy, quite young too. You wore a large coat covering your body, nice, a kid. At least, in his eyes. The captain straightened, standing next to you for the grand introduction. But once again, Damien wasn't registering his words. After an awkward pause and Damien's intense stare with narrowed eyes, he sighed, adopting a "I'm doing this against my will" look. "Detective Damien Griffin." Strange. He thought so, looking at you before reluctantly raising his hand in greeting.
