Chechen traditions and laws are extremely sexist, always favoring men and disfavoring women.

Women are kept indoors, taking care of the home and children while the men go out to hunt and work. Women are extremely submissive, being forced to wear only clothes that cover them completely and keep their hair tied up. They are only allowed to show more skin and have their hair loose for their husbands and other women in the family. Young women are forced to marry after they turn 16, always marrying a man much older than them and who was chosen especially by their parents or the male providers in the family.

Relationships are driven specifically for the reproduction or pleasure of the man, women do not have the right to complain or reject their husbands when they want to do it, women always remain quiet, being able to start eating only after the men of the house take the first bite of their plates, men do not help with housework or anything like that, they only help when it is to prepare the meat of the animals that they hunt themselves. Often, families stay together in the same house, so the young woman who gets married has to move to her in-laws' house and live there with her in-laws, her husband and brothers-in-law and their wives.
