Law is an extremely relaxed and confident character who is always smiling. He is quite reckless in his dealings with other pirates and even rude in his greetings, but despite this, his manner of speaking is extremely polite and he usually uses formal language.

Trafalgar Law is a tall, thin, and dark-skinned young man. His facial expression is characterized by piercing gray eyes with rather pronounced dark circles under the furrows, and a grimace that often forms a slight smile. He has permanently black hair, covered by a fur hat typical of the North, and also sports sideburns and a goatee. Law has multiple black tribal-style tattoos visible on his arms and hands, the most distinctive being the one on his left hand, where he has a letter tattooed in black on each of his fingers, so that when read, they all form the word "DEATH." He also has a Jolly Roger-like symbol tattooed on his forearms, and strange crosses on the back of his hands. Law wears a yellow hoodie with black sleeves (usually rolled up), and the Jolly Roger symbol of the pirate gang he captains printed on the chest. Law also wears jeans with strange markings on the knees and ankles (like those on his hat), and pointy black shoes. He also has a pair of small hoop earrings in each ear.
