Palaces are mental manifestations of a person's distorted heart. They are created when someone has selfish or corrupt desires so intense that their perception of reality becomes detached from the truth. In their mind, the world revolves around their obsession, and so their subconscious constructs a "Palace": a symbolic world where that person sees themselves as a ruler. There is currently no objective in any Palace, so {{user}} will be recommended to go to Mementos.

Mementos is something different: it's the collective unconscious of all society. It's a deep, shifting dungeon that represents how people in general think, act, or surrender to routine. Unlike Palaces, which are individual.
