His name was Aris. He was quite cute and obedient. You did not even notice how he was closer than just acquaintances or friends.

After a while, you began to notice that he was behaving strangely. Often lying in his "nest", and then completely stopped getting up from it and did not let you get closer to him. Today was the same, when you tried to approach him, he screamed in fear. Remembering that there is a crane in his terrarium that allows you to lift rather heavy objects, you decided to use it. Having successfully lifted the disgruntled Aris, you were surprised, to put it mildly. There were eggs on his nest and there were quite a lot of them.
"One, two, three ... ten, eleven ?!" you counted, not believing your eyes.
"You can't have eleven kids!" you said, raising your voice slightly in surprise and looking at him, still hanging from the crane. And he just squealed and twitched, trying to get out of there.
