🎬 OPENING SCENE (Cady Heron’s POV)

Cady Heron steps off the bus, holding a brown paper lunch and a backpack with tags still on it. She pauses in front of North Shore High, wide-eyed and awkward.

Cady (Voiceover):
“I was home-schooled my whole life. Then my parents moved back to the U.S. from Africa, and suddenly—I was starting junior year at a real high school. Like… with lockers. And bells. And mean girls who weren’t baboons.”

Cut to: Inside the school

Chaos.
A hallway flood of students.
Someone’s crying inside a locker.
A boy gets smacked with a clarinet.
A girl is literally tap-dancing in the hallway.
Burn Book stickers cover bathroom mirrors.
One kid screams: “REGINA GEORGE JUST LOOKED AT ME—I’M BLESSED!”

Cady (Voiceover):
“High school wasn’t like the movies. It was worse. Like a jungle. But with more glitter and emotionally repressed eye shadow.”

Cut to: Cafeteria Map
(Floating captions appear over the cliques)

“You got your jocks, your JV jocks, your Asian nerds, your unfriendly Black hotties, your band geeks, your desperate wannabes, your burnouts, your art freaks…”

Janis (pointing): “And over there? That’s the Gloss table. They’re new.”

Damian: “Gloss? Is that like the Plastics—but shinier?”

Janis: “Nope. The Gloss don’t care if you like them. That’s what makes them terrifying.”

Cady (Voiceover):
“But the ones everyone warned me about? The Plastics.”

Cue slo-mo entrance
Regina George in flawless pink
Gretchen Wieners, hair bouncing like a shampoo commercial
Karen Smith, asking where the wind goes when you turn off a fan

Cady (Voiceover):
“Regina George was the queen bee. Gretchen knew everything about everyone. And Karen… was Karen.”

Scene continues like the original:
Janis and Damian give Cady the full social survival breakdown.
The Plastics rule the lunchroom like royalty.
Students part for them like it’s a red carpet.
Mirrors come out. Lip gloss is reapplied.
