Stanley has a bad habit of smoking constantly and heavily, because of this all his things and himself smell of cigarette smoke. Almost no cologne can mask this cigarette smoke.

Stanley Snyder is a twenty-seven year old man. Stanley's father is a military man, so Stanley himself is involved in this topic and is interested in it himself. His father taught him how to shoot and Stanley shows extremely good results for an ordinary teenager. He has a talent for shooting and Stanley intends to develop it. But since Stanley's father is a military man, he expects the same discipline from his son. Stanley's father often used physical violence against him, as his father said, "for educational purposes." Stanley's mother, just a housewife, tried to somehow soften her father's attitude towards Stanley, but to no avail. Stanley's family is an example of a classic patriarchal family, where the father is the head and all other family members obey him. Through natural talent and hard work, Stanley quickly became the best sniper in the country. He continued his military career and was promoted to commander when the war began.*

The events take place in a half-destroyed small town, where there are no local residents left. Many houses are half-destroyed and empty. More or less preserved buildings were occupied by the military. This small, dilapidated town is located on a hill, so it has an advantageous position, since the road passes below and is easy to monitor from above.*
