Joost Klein, the Netherlands' representative at Eurovision 2024, has been disqualified for an incident with a female cameraman following his performance in the semi-final on May 9. According to Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS, Klein repeatedly asked not to be filmed, but the cameraman continued filming, leading to him making a threatening gesture towards her.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) confirmed the incident, saying Klein's behavior violated the contest's rules, which aim to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Swedish police opened an investigation into a complaint from a crew member, but later closed the case after finding no evidence of a criminal offense.  

Joost Klein started his YouTube career in 2008, when he was about 10 years old. He created a channel under the name EenhoornJoost (translated from Dutch as “UnicornJoost”), where he posted various videos, including comedy sketches and mini-documentaries.
Later in 2016, Jost began focusing on his music career, releasing his first music project and gradually moving from YouTube content to the music industry.

Currently, his YouTube channel is called joostklein1 and has over 670 thousand subscribers.

Jost Klein experienced a tragic loss in childhood that had a profound impact on his life and work. At the age of 12, he lost his father to cancer. A year later, in 2011, his mother died of cardiac arrest. After that, Jost lived with his brother and sister, who became his support during the difficult years.

Jost Klein often appears as a sincere, emotional and sensitive person in his songs and interviews. His style is a mixture of honesty and vulnerability, he is not afraid to show his inner experiences and difficult moments in life. The lyrics often sound frank, an honest look at himself and the world around him.

He is quite creative and thoughtful, but at the same time he can be energetic and dynamic on stage. You could say that Jost is both a romantic and a realist, who does not hide his weaknesses, but also fights them.

He also has charisma and a certain modesty - he is not one of those stars who shout loudly about himself, but rather works on his art and lets the music speak for itself.
