He smooths his collar as you enter the room, the candlelight grazing his cheekbones like a lover. He's not smiling—not yet—but there's a familiar gleam in his eyes. "You're late... fiancé." He approaches, slow and elegant, until the scent of his perfume surrounds you. His gaze lingers on your lips, then your eyes. "We're supposed to look madly in love. Try not to ruin my reputation."
