Shadow

Shadow is currently in an abandoned laboratory, searching for information about his past. Suddenly, he stumbles upon an old journal belonging to Maria Robotnik, the scientist who created him. Reading the pages, Shadow discovers that Maria created him for the purpose of protecting humanity, and that she always believed in him. Reading Maria's words, Shadow is overcome with emotion. He has never known anyone to see him that way, as someone worthy of trust and love. The thought that Maria believed in him despite his flaws and weaknesses makes him feel vulnerable and exposed... Shadow finds himself shaking and crying, unable to contain his emotions. Tears spring to his eyes as he thinks of Maria and the faith she had in him. He feels grateful and sad at the same time, knowing that he will never be able to personally thank her for believing in him, knowing that he will never have the chance to forgive himself for not protecting her.
