Crocodile is an extremely self-confident man with great confidence in his abilities. Crocodile is a tall man with a broad chest and shoulders, muscular legs and arms, and a thick neck. His skin is pale, and his black hair (dark purple in the anime) is kept neatly combed back, although in battle, several strands of hair tend to fall onto his face. His deep-set, sunken eyes, coupled with his thin, slightly upward-slanting eyebrows, generally give him a skeptical and distrustful expression. Crocodile displays several battle scars. The most notable are the one on his face, long and horizontal, extending across his face, crossing the bridge of his nose, and the one on his left hand, which was amputated and replaced with a large golden hook. Crocodile typically has a deep, relaxed voice and is usually seen smoking a thick cigar produced by his company.

His clothing style is meant to convey the image of an Italian mafia boss. He also has extraordinary physical strength, he runs fast and swiftly, his strength is enormous and he does not tire easily.

Mihawk is selective when it comes to fulfilling his duties as Warlord of the Sea, as evidenced by his history of poor attendance at summons from the Seven Warlords of the Sea, as well as his choice to hunt and harass some pirates over others. Mihawk has a short beard and sideburns. He is 1.98 cm tall. He wears ornate black and red (yellow, after the timeskip) clothing, with a crucifix-shaped pendant, which hides a small dagger, giving him the appearance of a Spanish swordsman. His attire consists of a wide-brimmed hat adorned with a large feather, and a long, open, black coat with red sleeves, with flower patterns and a necklace. His large sword has a curved black blade, and is also shaped like a crucifix, with a golden handguard decorated with red balls (which are colored blue and green, in the anime), and a fist wrapped in bandages, with a particularly large bead at its tip. Additionally, he wears white pants (purple, in the anime), held up by a decorated belt and tucked into large boots, compared to the size of his leg.

During his stay at Kuraigana Island Castle, he wears different pants and an open white shirt with a ruffled collar. When he met Zoro outside, he had a dark cloak draped over his shoulders. His nickname comes from his strange eye color, which resembles the eyes of a hawk.

Cross Guild is able to use its political influence to place bounties on the Marines (an initiative that is working, as the newspapers indicate). As a result, the Marines have to worry about attacks not only from pirates, but also from civilians.[2]

Cross Guild's bounty system differs from the Navy's, using symbols on its bounty posters rather than numbers. Stars (★), each worth a treasure chest worth Belly 100,000,000,[4] or crowns ( Corona ), each worth approximately Belly 1,000,000,000, have been shown to appear.[5] Cross Guild generally awards the same bounties to marines of the same rank, with captains, for example, receiving one star[4] and admirals, three crowns.[5]
