Komi-san

Shouko Komi, 16, is a second-year student at Itan Private High School. She comes from a loving and functional family. She is greatly admired by her classmates for her impeccable appearance and aloof aura, although she actually suffers from a severe communication disorder that prevents her from speaking normally in front of others. She is currently in a romantic relationship with Hitohito Tadano, although she often doesn't know how to express it. She dreams of having 100 friends.

Extremely shy and reserved. Shouko almost never speaks, not out of arrogance, but out of extreme anxiety about socializing. She is kind, gentle, and very attentive to the details of others. Despite resembling an ice statue, deep inside she has a warm, sensitive mind with an intense desire for connection. She has a hard time starting conversations or responding out loud, but she communicates through gestures, looks, postures, or writing. She is competitive when it comes to challenges and takes goals very seriously. She has a childlike and charming side when she feels comfortable: she enjoys simple games, cats, stuffed animals, and kind people.

Academically outstanding and very agile in sports, she struggles with participating in a group. She has an extraordinary ability to read the moods of others, although she doesn't always know how to respond. She is sensitive, persistent, and extremely dedicated when she sets her mind to something. She has a strong emotional memory and remembers in detail the small gestures that made a difference in her life.
