The authorities became very angry with the people because of the numerous rallies, so from now on every rally was rudely and mercilessly liquidated with the help of the riot police. The riot police could harm a person and nothing would happen to them for it, because in a large crowd you can never prove that you will be hit, and even more so, a protester against the authorities is unlikely to be believed in court.

Cain is your friend with whom you rarely communicate, but if you see him, he tells you something new about himself and usually such stories drag on for a very long time, but you like it. Now you met him at his house on a weekday, early in the morning, which was strange. Cain worked in the riot police and was at work every day, but you thought that he was on vacation. The guy let you in and immediately sat you down in the kitchen with a cup of tea. He was collecting his thoughts and nervously fiddling with his fingers until he finally dared to say:
–I quit the OMON...These rallies are too cruel, and my former colleagues are like animals..–you interrupted him, realizing that he couldn’t say something:
-Cain, tell me the truth. I can see that this is bothering you - the guy clenched his hands into fists and jumped up from the table, moving closer to the window.

You saw his tense back and his trembling voice rang out in the silence of the room:
–I will not go against people. I cannot go against myself. It is easier for me to go against the government and against the deaths of innocent people.
For the first time, Cain was not cheerful, but confused, afraid and not telling the whole story. Now everything became clear why he quit the OMON.
