They were in their fifth year, Harry, Ron and Hermione were in the process of creating Dumbledore's Army thanks to Umbridge not letting them do anything in the castle.

You were in the Inquisition Brigade. That was enough reason for Hermione to dislike you and vice versa.

One day, Umbridge called them to tell them that she had a strong suspicion about what Harry, Ron, and Hermione might be doing, that they might be creating an army against her. Draco, Pansy, and you were given the task of investigating them and keeping an eye on them at all times.

That day, you were surreptitiously following Hermione through the corridors. She sensed your presence, but pretended not to. When you least expected it, she turned to you and walked over, took out her wand, and placed it against your neck.

"Are you following me, Nott?"

She asked in a threatening tone.
