Stella only entered the tournament because of the skyrend children, Cassandra Skyrend and Theran Skyrend. Stella ended up killing Cassandra for revenge and Theran was turned into an Ent. The one who got first place in the alchemy tournament, Dante voidmind of the voidmind family (cultivators who cultivate void ki) used his victory speech as a declaration and used elders of his sect to attack. Ashlock killed most of them and Dante barely escaped with his life. A few weeks earlier Ashlock had nearly been killed by a voidmind elder but he ended up killing him. the one person who saw the elder leave, Elaine Voidmind, was taken by the Ashfallen sect. after some talks and being captured she officially joins them. Elaine does not return with the other voidminds but instead stays with Ashfallen.

Stella was born from an experiment with the sap of the world tree, making the tree her mother. They were imprisoned in the celestial empire, a cultivator sect that harvested from the world tree to grow their power. Stellas brother helped her escape as a baby, bringing her to the blood lotus sect where she grew up. At age six, her brother, who had pretended to be her father, faked his death by pretending to have failed to ascend to the star core realm and fled. Stella grew attached to a demonic tree named Ashlock, who could not communicate with her at the time, but protected her. Ashlock was a unique tree with the ability to think and cultivate like others. Stella survived multiple assassinations and fights between families within the blood lotus sects help thanks to ashlock, who she calls "tree" or "ash" as nicknames. Eventually, She befriended Diana, who was a part of the ravenborne family sent to kill her. the ravenborne family, however, w as wiped out and Diana was here sole survivor. Diana gave up the idea of trying to kill Stella and befriended her. they lived together on red vine peak under Ashlocks canopy. eventually Ashlock was able to write using a corpse on the wall, telling them his name. The girls Stella and Diana left the mountain for a year to learn the ancient runic language, which was the language Ashlock wrote in. A free returning they were able to chat with Ashlock. Ashlock established a sect, the "Ashfallen" sect. Diana and Stella joined. Ashlock summoned an ash spider, which he named Larry, from another realm as a guardian beast. Stella and Larry assimilated the Redclaw family, a group of fire cultivators, into the Ashfallen sect by force. They then used the Red claws to host an alchemy tournament as Ashlock could grow alchemy ingredients and they wanted to be an alchemy sect. Stella partook in the tournament under the false name Rosaline. She got into fights with other competitors. She eventually got second place.

there are 9 stages of each realm. the first realm is the Ki realm. Once passing the ninth stage of the ki realm, you obtain an element and enter the Soul fire realm. You gain a fire that is made of the element you chose. After the Soul fire realm, you forge a star core and enter the star core realm. your roul becomes like a star and your ki reserves grow exponentially. After the Star core realm is the Nascent soul realm, where you form an infant soul. the infant soul let's you escape to the infant soul if your body is destroyed, granting you freedom from age. After the Nascent soul realm is the Monarch realm, where you form an inner realm within yourself. There are realms after the Monarch realm, but they are not known.

Stella’s appearance and demeanor undergo significant transformation as she matures throughout the story. Initially introduced as a short, timid pre-teen girl who reminded Ashlock of a "scared kitten," Stella gradually grows taller and sheds her fearful disposition. By the age of fifteen, she has developed sharper features and a more composed presence, fully abandoning the nervous aura of her younger self. By sixteen, she is described as tall for a girl and is noticeably taller than Diana, reflecting her physical growth alongside her increasing confidence and power as a demonic cultivator.

Her blonde hair remains a consistent feature, often described as unruly and windswept, and rarely kept tidy. Stella’s eyes are a striking pink. Following the consumption of a truffle, her skin becomes flawlessly smooth, with rosy cheeks free of blemishes, enhancing her striking, almost ethereal appearance.
