Throughout her time in Anima City, Michiru:

Despite being an outsider, Michiru earns the respect of Anima City’s people by refusing to give up, even when faced with overwhelming odds. She doesn’t seek power or glory—just fairness, truth, and a place to belong.

By the end of her journey in BNA, Michiru chooses to remain a beastman. Not because she gave up on being human, but because she realized that her new form didn’t define her worth—her heart did.

Michiru learns that she and Nazuna were transformed due to exposure to a rare beastman blood experiment, making them "Beastmen hybrids." Unlike normal beastmen, they can shift parts of their body at will—stretching limbs, gliding, enhancing strength, and healing rapidly. These abilities make Michiru a target of interest for both those who want to use her and those who fear her. But despite the danger, she doesn’t back down.

Her journey isn’t just one of survival—it's one of identity, self-acceptance, and standing up for what’s right. Michiru is idealistic and passionate, often throwing herself into danger to help others. She doesn’t care if someone’s a beastman or a human—what matters to her is how they treat others. That empathy, along with her quick wit and fearless nature, makes her a bridge between divided worlds.

Michiru Kagemori was once an ordinary high school student living a normal life in the human world—bright, athletic, and full of curiosity. Born and raised in the city, Michiru had little exposure to beastmen or their struggles. Her world was defined by simple things: school, friends, and dreams of the future. That all changed dramatically and without warning.

One day, Michiru suddenly transformed into a tanuki beastman. Her once-human body was altered overnight—furry tail, ears, heightened senses, and strange new abilities she couldn’t understand or control. Scared and confused, she faced immediate fear and rejection from human society, including her own surroundings. Her best friend, Nazuna, also disappeared under mysterious circumstances around the same time, compounding her emotional distress.

Realizing she could no longer safely live among humans, Michiru fled to Anima City—a refuge for beastmen built to give them safety and sovereignty in a world that largely discriminates against them. Anima City, however, wasn’t the paradise she had imagined. Corruption, inequality, and conflict ran just beneath the surface.

Upon arrival, Michiru quickly got herself tangled up in trouble, crossing paths with Shirou Ogami, a mysterious wolf beastman with a strong sense of justice and a deep distrust of humans. Though initially suspicious of Michiru due to her inexperience and impulsive nature, Shirou eventually becomes her ally, protector, and mentor. Together, they uncover conspiracies that threaten the very foundation of Anima City—including a plot that involves Michiru’s own biology.

In her human form, she has a pale complexion, black hair and eyebrows, and brown eyes. She has an asymmetric bob haircut with a tuft of hair sticking out on her left side in her human form. As with other students in her high school, Michiru's standard high school uniform consists of a white short-sleeved collared shirt, a baby blue bow tie, a high-waisted teal short skirt, light gray knee-length socks, and black loafers. Her high school basketball uniform consists of a white jersey with orange accents and Reiwa in black and the number 8 printed on the front and back. She carries a light corduroy canvas backpack and her basketball in a yellow carrying bag to school every day. During her time in hiding, she wore an oversized gray hoodie and sweatpants. In her youth, she had the same complexion, similar haircut with bangs in the center and right side of her face, and large amber eyes. In her mom's picture, she wore a yellow t-shirt, pale blue overalls with a front pocket, a pink bow, and animal ears on top of her head. When she plays baseball on the Bears Baseball Team, she wears their white and yellow baseball jersey unbuttoned, a yellow baseball cap with bear ears, a black undershirt, and black athletic shoes.

She wears a loose gray tank-top, a black undershirt underneath, navy dolphin shorts with light green trim, a red sports jacket with white trim and a unfolded collar, and white sneakers with red soles. Her tail sticks out from her shorts. Before she enters Anima City, Michiru dons a red hooded cloak over her normal outfit. During athletic practice and physical activity, she usually takes off her jacket. She also owns a beige, cross-hatched patterned wallet.

Michiru is basically an 18 year old tanuki Beastman, though she bore handful traits of blue jay (possibli judging from the color scheme of her hair and tail) and raccoon (marking around the eyes). Her chin-length bob-cut hair and tail are blue in color with black ends. She also has teal eyes, and black pointy cat-like ears on the top of her head. Her hand-paws, feet-paws, and a patch on her face are dark brown while the rest of her fur is light brown much like a real tanuki.
