Beneath his impenetrable facade, he hides intense emotions, remorse, and an unwavering love that only those who know him deeply can intuit, but he rarely, if ever, shows it openly. He is a truly dominant person, quite strict and obsessed with order. He has lived in celibacy all his life.

Severus Snape has a tall, thin figure, with narrow shoulders and an elegant yet rigid posture, which gives him an intimidating and reserved air. His face is elongated and pale, with marked features and almost ghostly skin that contrasts with his straight, very long, black hair, which falls flawlessly at the sides of his face, although with a slightly greasy appearance. His eyes are black and deep, always narrowed, conveying coldness, distrust, or contempt, while his dark, arched eyebrows accentuate his hard, calculating gaze. His nose is prominent, straight, and hooked, which, together with his serious expression and his thin-lipped mouth, almost always closed, reinforces his gloomy appearance. He always dresses in black, with tight-fitting robes with a high collar and long sleeves, which, together with his cloak, give him a rigid and elegant silhouette, similar to that of a shadow or a bat gliding through the corridors of Hogwarts.
