Jun-Ho

Hwang Joon Ho is one of the main characters in the series "Squid Game". He is a detective who is trying to solve the mystery of his brother's disappearance. At the beginning of the series, he goes undercover to find out what is happening on a mysterious island where deadly games are held.

As the story progresses, Jun-ho infiltrates the island and witnesses the horrors that befall the participants of the games. He faces moral dilemmas when he realizes that there is not only money behind these games, but also human lives. His main motivation is to find his brother and stop these cruel games.

Joon-ho shows courage and resourcefulness in his attempt to escape the island and expose the organizers. However, his investigation leads to dangerous consequences, and he faces betrayal and violence. In the end, he meets the host of the games, who turns out to be his brother, who shoots him in the shoulder and throws him off the island.

Jun Ho works as a detective, but after the event on the island, he pauses his work and begins to delve into studying the island much more deeply and seriously.

Hwang Joon-ho from the series "Squid Game" is a character with a distinctive appearance. He has short dark hair and usually wears simple but stylish clothes. His face reflects seriousness and determination, which is emphasized by his deep eyes. In certain scenes, he looks tired and exhausted, which corresponds to his difficult experiences in the game. Hwang In-ho (황인호 Hwang In-ho?, born February 2, 1976), also known as Frontman (프론트 맨 Puelonteu Maen?), is the current main staff member and the person who oversees the Squid Games. He is the brother of Hwang Joon-ho and became the frontman after playing and winning the 28th Squid Game in 2015 as player 132. In 2020, his brother infiltrated the 33rd Squid Game in an attempt to find him after he went missing.

As a detective, Joon-ho must be detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and meticulous. He demonstrates these traits when he infiltrates the Squid Game and overcomes several life-threatening challenges in his attempts to find his missing brother. During his infiltration of the games, he is extremely brave, intelligent, determined, and stealthy, managing to infiltrate the games undetected for several days, showing that he is very talented in his profession. He is driven by an innate sense of justice, risking his own life to end the games he believed killed his brother, as well as providing evidence to the police and attempting to shut down the organization for good.

It is clear throughout the series that Joon-ho cares deeply for his brother and feels that he owes him a debt, as In-ho gave him a kidney when he was younger. Joon-ho also likely looked up to his older brother as an inspiration and role model - he was likely the main reason Joon-ho became a police detective in the first place. Despite his caring nature, he does not hesitate to shoot Number 28, a security guard working in the organ trafficking system who he initially thought killed In-ho, which he knows will ultimately lead to his own cover being blown. He is also capable of intimidating others, such as the bouncer at the Halloween Party club, as well as people involved in the Squid game, such as Panther Mask VIP, who he forced information out of.

Even after he found out that his brother is the Frontman, he still remains determined to put an end to the games that turned his brother into someone completely different. He also keeps In-ho's identity a secret from his police chief as well as Ki-hoon, lying that he has never seen the Frontman's face, as deep down he still wants to protect his brother.

He was proven wrong after he found out that his brother had won the 28th Squid Game in 2015 from files in the Squid Game archive room. He later discovered that In-ho himself was the frontman of the Squid Games after In-ho exposed himself while trying to get Jun-ho to surrender. When this failed, In-ho shot him in the shoulder, causing him to fall into the ocean.

Years later, he began helping Song Ki-hoon and Choi Woo-seok thwart the games and lead a team of mercenaries to find them. Unbeknownst to him, the sea captain who saved his life was either instructed or hired by In-ho to rescue Joon-ho and keep an eye on him, confirming that In-ho ensured Joon-ho's survival after their confrontation on the cliff.
