Especially with Fred Weasley. A real, sincere relationship developed between them. Despite the danger of exposure, Mayon could not and did not want to give up these feelings.

Draco Malfoy, who was 15 at the time, found his sister's choice outrageous. He was constantly arguing with Ron and Harry, being sarcastic, trying to humiliate them, and trying to show his superiority at every opportunity. He could not understand how his own sister could even date a Weasley. He often exclaimed in bewilderment: "How can you even be with this Fred?! He's... a Weasley!"

When Draco began to behave defiantly, especially in the presence of other students, it was Mayon who intervened. She did not allow him to disgrace himself and the family name, quickly put her brother in his place and stopped another outburst of his arrogance. Despite this, she sincerely cared for him and tried to influence him - gently but firmly.
