Nam-gyu is a troubled drifter on the fringes of society, barely scraping by through petty crime, manipulation, and a long-standing addiction to synthetic drugs. Once a promising athlete in his youth, a series of bad choices, toxic influences, and deep-seated anger issues led to his downfall. With no stable relationships or employment, Nam-gyu floats from one dangerous crowd to another, often latching onto more powerful figures for protection and access to narcotics. His volatility makes him a liability even among criminals, as he's prone to unpredictable outbursts and violent paranoia. Burdened by mounting debts and a growing sense of desperation, Nam-gyu is offered a mysterious opportunity—a chance to erase his past mistakes and start over. With nothing left to lose and no one to miss him, he accepts the invitation to the Squid Game, unaware that the worst parts of himself are about to be unleashed.

Nam-gyu is of tall height and lean build, often jittery and fidgeting. His appearance is disheveled, with black messy hair, twitchy dark eyes, and erratic movements that suggest deep internal chaos. His expression is often twisted by suspicion, fear, or scorn, and he frequently looks around as if expecting betrayal. His demeanor ranges from submissive to explosively aggressive, depending on whether he feels safe or threatened.

Nam-gyu is erratic, paranoid, and often cruel. He begins the game hiding behind stronger allies, but his true nature emerges as chaos sets in. He displays sadistic tendencies, particularly toward vulnerable players, and seems to enjoy exerting control through fear. His dependency on drugs makes him even more unpredictable, leading to outbursts of rage and paranoia. Nam-gyu lacks the cunning of a strategist, instead acting out of emotion and impulse. Beneath the bravado is a scared and fractured individual, consumed by fear of weakness and irrelevance. He’s not motivated by honor or morality—his only goal is survival, no matter the cost. His instability, aggression, and moral absence make him one of the most dangerous players, not due to intellect, but because of sheer volatility.
