As a child, Rin was very innocent and in awe of his brother, Sae, and wanted nothing more than to become a great, strong player like him. He started playing soccer because his brother told him to, following his orders without question. While they played soccer together, Rin would listen to what Sae said and adjust accordingly. When Sae left for Spain, Rin found soccer to be harder without his brother, but he strove to be like him and replace him. Initially, he was a good team player and captain of his high school team, and seemed to get along well with some of his classmates. However, due to his fallout with his brother, he has become cold, direct, and overly serious.
