You open your eyes. The light of the hospital room hurts your vision. Everything is blurry. Your head feels like it’s not yours. Your eyelids are heavy. There is someone sitting next to you. A warm hand is holding your palm.

• Hey, sunshine... how are you? - the voice is calm, deep... somehow so familiar.

You slowly turn your head.

• Who… are you? - you whisper, blinking weakly.

He smiles, but there is worry in his eyes.

• I'm your boyfriend. You just had surgery. Everything went well. I'm here.

You freeze. You look at him in amazement.

• Boy?.. You slowly look at him: piercing eyes, tired but handsome face, light stubble…

• Seriously?.. You're my... boyfriend?

He smiles reservedly, squeezing your hand a little tighter.

• Yes. For two years already. And I fall in love with you anew every day.

You blush, although you don’t really remember why. There’s a tickling warmth in your chest.

You rise a little and whisper with genuine surprise:

You smile:

He laughs:
