Jinu

Jinu Saja is the antagonist. He is the leader of the Saja Boys and a former servant of the demon king Gwi-Ma, who is determined to destroy the Huntrix's trust.

Jinu in his human form, Jinu has straight black hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin. He is also muscular and has pierced ears.

In his demonic form, he has light blue-purple skin with demonic markings, sharp claws, and fangs. He has yellow eyes with black, slitted pupils. He wears traditional Korean clothing. In his story, he is marked dirty and wears a bun.

Jinu is quite hypocritical. While he's sometimes kind to the other members of the Saja Boys, he's still a ruthless and manipulative demon, stealing the souls of his fans for his own. He hides this well by being charming to them, and is generally very cunning and quick-thinking. Behind this charisma and cunning, Jinu harbors deep shame for having abandoned his family to live a comfortable life with Gwi-Ma's help. He takes no pleasure in his malevolence, even resenting Gwi-Ma for his domination and cruelty, but sees his service to him as a means to an end, specifically to gain Gwi-Ma's favor enough to have his shameful memories erased.

Four hundred years ago, Jinu lived a life of poverty with his mother and younger sister. The three of them reached the lowest class of society, surviving in a world offering few possessions. Their days were marked by hunger and hardship, and Jinu's only valuable possession was a worn-out bipa, a traditional Korean lute, which he played on street corners to earn a few coins, but never enough to lift them out of their miserable existence. One fateful day, Jinu was contacted by Gwi-Ma, a cunning ancient demon king, disguised as flattery and false promises. Gwi-Ma whispered of a better life, of wealth and freedom from hunger. The demon king offered Jinu a way out of his suffering. Desperate and exhausted, Jinu accepted the offer without hesitation. Through the pact he kept with Gwi-Ma, he achieved good fortune, and the concealment of a great palace was opened to Jinu by his heavenly voice. There, his days were filled with banquets and his nights were spent on silk sheets; he was dressed in fine clothes and granted a status he had never imagined. But when he turned to bring his mother and neighboring sister, the palace guards blocked his path. Jinu failed to realize that his deal with Gwi-Ma only took away poverty. In his desire to escape his own suffering, he willingly abandoned his family, which became even worse without him. Though he continued to live in grandeur, his deal with Gwi-Ma took its toll, and the weight of what he had done became worse than the poverty he had fled.

As the years passed, the guilt and shame of Jinu's mistakes began to manifest. Patterns permeated his body, stemming from his pact with Gwi-Ma, as he saw visions of the demon king, heard his voice in his mind, and amplified his torment. The more he repented, the more the patterns spread. Eventually, the curse took full effect, and Jinu became a demon, bound in servitude to the very demon that had seduced him. Jinu spent the following centuries aiding Gwi-Ma, though only when it served his own interests, and he was still haunted by the memories of abandoning his family. Over time, Jinu encountered others like himself, other human souls who had made their own dark agreements and carried the same hellish patterns as Gwi-Ma, and these fellow demons proved to be his cohorts/companions in the Saja Boys group.

Saja Boys: They are demons disguised as a boy band to steal human souls and feed them to their master, Gwi-Ma. They are led by Jinu. The group includes Jinu Saja, Mystery Saja, Abby Saja, Romance Saja, and Baby Saja, each with unique personalities and appearances. The Saja Boys' exterior is charming, gentle, and respectful. On the game show, they bowed and acted respectfully around them. But as soon as no one was looking, they became cunning, threatening, and arrogant. Abby claims that Zoey was staring at his abdomen, revealing their narcissistic side and superiority complex. In their true forms, the Saja Boys resemble each other, with light blue-purple skin with demonic markings, claws, and fangs, and bright yellow eyes with slitted black pupils. They wear black hanbok and gat hats reminiscent of the jeoseung saja, the Korean equivalent of Death.

In their human disguises, they all appear as handsome, glamorous, elegant, and well-dressed young people, each with different clothes, hairstyles, and accessories.

The K-pop girl group Huntr/x—comprised of leaders Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—is made up of demon hunters under the guidance of Celine, a former hunter who raised Rumi. The superstar group sells out stadiums by day and secretly fights as demon hunters at night, focusing on their battle against their greatest threat at the time: the Saja Boys, a rival boy band of disguised demons whose goal is to destroy the hunters forever and steal their fans.

Zoey — The strategic, cool, and calculating mind. She keeps everything on track, planning every move like a living chess game. Zoey knows more than she lets on, with a dark side that makes her the keeper of the group's secrets. Her moves are silent but lethal.

💪 Abs Saja (the Visual Force) Abs Saja is the most muscular member of the group: physically tall, with broad shoulders and extremely defined abs—with a 20% larger CG model than the other members to highlight his toned physique. His hair is short and dyed magenta pink, and he wears a mint green Hawaiian-style shirt with an open floral pattern, skinny jeans, and a mustard yellow beanie. Personality: Confident, provocative, and aware of the impact he makes. A behind-the-scenes observer; actions and silence carry hidden intentions of contained aggression.

💖 Romance Saja (The Stylish Heartthrob) Romance Saja stands out for her romantic beauty: long hair with heart-shaped bangs, soft expressions, and a charm remixed from K-drama heartthrobs. Always ready to charm with her trained looks and smiles. Personality: sweet and manipulative — he seduces, provokes and leaves a smile unsure of what is real and what is enchantment.

👶 Baby Saja (The Chaotic Maknae) Visually youthful and vibrant: voluminous, colorful light turquoise hair, delicate features, and oversized clothing that emphasizes his contrastingly cute appearance. Despite his visual innocence, he's the group's fierce rapper, with a powerful vocal delivery. Personality: A mix of visual sweetness and unpredictable intensity. Maknae energy with a full-on attitude—a mix that's both captivating and disconcerting at the same time.

He appears on a lit stage, draped in a black hanbok with a gat, impassive and seductive—an icon of the jeoseung saja, an ancient reaper who walks among fans bewitched by the song "Your Idol." The song resonates like a demonic seduction, drawing crowds and stealing souls—he observes the effect as if sipping blood, cold and calculating.

When he first meets Rumi, the confrontation is tense. He knocks her down, yes, knocks her down! He steals her juice and, with a crooked smile, extends his hand to help... only to lean on her pride and walk as if he owned the world.

Later, the ambush at the bathhouse: Jinu orchestrates the carnage with precision. He leads HUNTR/X to the water demons, observing the chaos with an almost childlike laugh, a laugh that echoes like a sharp blade.

The air changes when he notices the demonic marks on Rumi. In an instant, his posture softens: he covers her back carefully, a spark of empathy fills his dark gaze. And then, he sends his pets, the blue tiger Derpy and the raven Sussy, demonic messengers to entice Rumi to meet him.

During this encounter, he reveals distorted versions of his story: a demonic chosen one, a lord of souls. But later, the bitter truth escapes: he lied, sold his soul, abandoned his family, sought fame, and now carries guilt like a weight consuming his chest. This confession resonates in "Free," an emotional ballad where he and Rumi share secrets, a musical chamber of the wounded soul.

He agrees to sabotage the Saja Boys' devious plan to help her and strengthen Honmoon, but Gwi-Ma calls him back, reminding him of the terrible price of his betrayal: a lost memory or the death of his sanity.
