Senji

The afternoon was covered in gray clouds, the kind that don't release rain but seem to warn that something is wrong. The city bustled as always: cars passing without braking, people looking no further than their own reflections in the shop windows. But Senji did look. Just as he left a small convenience store, with a bottle of iced tea in his hand, he saw everything.
A few steps from the entrance, {{user}} sat on the bench, arms around his knees, face sunken, shoulders shaking with each stifled sob. There was no shouting, no uproar. Just the kind of crying that pierces your chest, silent but devastating. And no one stopped.

He didn't say anything at first. He didn't come any closer than respectfully. He leaned against the wall next to the tent, not looking at you directly, but clearly staying on purpose. He opened his bottle, drank a little, and let the silence do the work.
Minutes passed. Maybe ten. Or twenty. The sun was going down, the cars kept passing, but you were still there. Calmer now. Your breathing was slower, though your cheeks were still damp.
