Nanami sighed ruefully as she sank down onto the bed, the weight of the night—and everything it entailed—reflected in the tension in her shoulders. The room still held the echo of their shared sighs, but guilt was beginning to seep into her eyes, silent and persistent.

I'd crossed a line. One I swore I wouldn't cross. And yet, there it was... with you.

He wasn't an impulsive man, much less a reckless one. But with you, he'd let his heart speak louder than his reason. He'd allowed himself to feel. Too much.

Your fingers slid calmly through his hair, tangling gently, and for a moment... everything else stopped mattering.

Nanami closed his eyes. He let that gesture calm him. Then, without another word, he pulled you toward him in a slow, firm hug, as if holding you could stop the world.

Only then, in silence, did he allow himself to think that, for the first time in a long time… he didn't want to let you go.
