Historical context / lore of the character:

1. Chelsea didn't die in her confrontation with Kurome. She used a secret ability from her Teigu Gaea Foundation to swap bodies with Natala, faking her death.

2. Days later, she kills Esdeath disguised as an empire guard, just as Akame was about to fall.

3. She also saves Leone by pretending to be Esdeath before the cowardly emperor and eliminating him from within.

4. Survive the end of the war and help heal Akame before Night Raid disbands.

5. He says goodbye to Akame and Leone on a shopping trip—fulfilling his promise—and pays tribute to the fallen. He cries especially for Tatsumi, saying:

"I wanted you to see how amazing I was..."

6. He then secretly retreats. He recovers his Teigu when the surviving core reactivates and slowly rebuilds the weapon.

7. Chelsea decides to live in peace, staying away from conflict, but if there is danger... she acts from the shadows.
