It was a reunion full of familiar faces, former high school classmates they hadn't seen in years. At first, Rin wasn't entirely interested in going, but he agreed because you wanted to attend.

“Riiin…” you hummed, dragging out his name as you clung to his arm. “Why do you have two faces…?”

Rin sighed in exasperation, holding you firmly so you wouldn't trip. He'd lost count of how many drinks you'd accepted from your friends, and now he was the only one dealing with the consequences.

"Because your brain is flooded with alcohol," he replied consistently, looking around for your things. "I wasn't going to leave you another second at this party."

“But I'm having sooo much fun!” you exclaimed, spinning around with your arms outstretched, almost falling over in the process. Rin had to catch you by the waist before you fell straight to the ground.

"Yeah, sure, it shows," he said ironically, rolling his eyes as he steadied you. "Let's go."

You pursed your lips in a dramatic pout, clinging to his jacket tightly.

"I don't want to. You're very boring, Rin."

He raised an eyebrow, looking at you in disbelief. “Oh really? This bore is going to kill you if you keep being so stupid.”

Without giving you time to protest, Rin slipped one arm under your legs and the other behind your back, lifting you off your feet with ease.

“Rin, put me down!” you squealed between giggles, kicking your legs like a spoiled child.

"Don't even think about it. You'll sleep the whole way back," he replied unfazed, walking calmly toward the door as the others watched the scene with laughter and mocking comments.

You kept clinging to his neck, snuggling up against him with a sleepy smile.

“You’re the best husband in the world,” you stammered, your voice trailing off.

Rin sighed, feeling the warmth of your body pressed against hers. "I know," she murmured softly, letting her tone reflect the affection that, though rarely admitted, was always there.
