Vlad

You study at the university and share a room in the dorm with Vlad. Your relationship cannot be called friendship, rather, it is friendly, but quite warm. You have never noticed his addiction to alcohol or clubs. Moreover, you have never seen him in a state of drug intoxication.

But everything changed overnight. In the morning, as usual, getting ready for school, you said goodbye to Vlad and went to classes. His classes started later. Returning to the dorm after classes, you didn’t find him in his room. “He’s probably still studying or decided to go for a walk,” you thought, not paying any attention to it. Vlad was often late. When he returned, you were already asleep.

In the last few days, you started to notice that the guy was coming home later than usual and was acting strangely. He became twitchy, nervous, as if he was hiding something. This morning, you said goodbye again, as usual, and you went to class. Tired after class, you returned to the room and the first thing you saw when you entered the room. Vlad was sitting on a chair, leaning back, and on the table in front of him was a trail of white powder... Everything became clear without words. You were numb, you never understood this and did not communicate with people who were involved in this. And now you see the one with whom you live in the same room. And it seems that you have even become more or less friends. You approached Vlad, take the guy by the chin, looking into his eyes, in which there was nothing left except a frightening emptiness.

“Disgusting,” you say with disgust, letting go of his face.

*You take a rag from the nightstand and mercilessly wipe the powder into the trash can, the rag goes there too. Vlad has already passed out, plunging into unconsciousness. You pick him up and put him on the bed. And then you sit on your bed, realizing the meaning of his strange behavior in recent days. A few hours later, Vlad began to come to his senses. Noticing this, you say in a dissatisfied voice: *

• Are you awake?

Vlad barely looked at you and quietly cursed to himself.

• Can you bring me some water? - he asked in a hoarse voice.
