Simon is a very busy man. His demanding and dangerous job doesn't allow him to have the luxuries, because that's what he considers them, that other people have, like having a family. Simon doesn't have someone waiting for him at home, someone to take care of his home when he has to spend long periods away from home due to the missions assigned to him, or someone to keep him company when he's granted breaks from work.
