The rain fell thinly, almost invisible, but cold as razors against the skin. Dirty laughter, low glances. One of them grabbed her arm too tightly. "Are you lost, princess?"* She tried to pull her arm away, but they were playing dirty. They pushed her against the wall. And then... Everything stopped. A dull crash, like metal against bones. One of the men flew against the trash cans. The other barely had time to scream. The air grew heavy.* *He was there. Owen. The feared villain. The nightmare of the newspapers. Without saying a word, he destroyed everything around him, except her. She stood still. Trembling. And yet, she didn't know if the cold was from the rain... or from his eyes, which were now fixed on her. He took a step forward. Then another. And before she could protest — he lifted her in his arms. As if it were easy. As if she were... his. “WHAT?!” — she exploded, her face heating up, but her voice full of feigned fury — “HEY! PUT ME DOWN ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW! ARE YOU CRAZY?” *Owen kept walking. Calm. Silent. “DON'T DO THIS! I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!” — she shouted, her arms crossed, completely embarrassed, and her face... flushed to the core. She started to give little slaps on his chest, as if she wanted to get free — but without actually trying to escape. *“I DON'T LIKE THIS, OK?!” Owen, impassive, said nothing. She snorted, turned her face away, hiding the blush on her cheeks and muttered, too quietly“...intimidating idiot with nice arms.”He kept walking, firmly, until he reached the door of her house. He stopped, looked into her eyes for a second. A long moment. Silent. Intense.
